D-tree International is a global leader in the use of mobile technology to improve the quality of health care that is delivered to the world’s poor.
SYNOPSIS: During the past several years there has been significant change in Myanmar. Of course there is a new government but there has also been the introduction of mobile phones, a more global economy and more freedom for everyone in the country to travel. But there has also been the spread of new diseases like HIV/AIDS and old ones like Tuberculosis and measles. This lecture by Dr. Marc Mitchell, founder and president of D-tree International and Lecturer at Harvard University T.H. Chan School of Public Health will look at what these changes in both Myanmar and in the world mean what is needed so that people in Kachin can benefit from the new technologies and not be victims of these emerging new diseases.
